A MOL Fehérvár FC az első fordulóban búcsúzott a labdarúgó Konferencia Liga selejtezőjében: Szabics Imre együttese a hazai 1-1-es döntetlen után a csütörtöki visszavágón 2-0-ra kapott ki az örmény Ararat Jereván vendégeként.
A fehérváriak az első félidőben nem tudtak mit kezdeni a keményen, helyenként durván futballozó hazaiak játékával, akik ráadásul a 33. percben egy gyönyörű szabadrúgásgóllal megszerezték a vezetést és ezzel összesítésben is előnybe kerültek.
A fordulást követően a csereként frissen beállt Zivzivadze rögtön ziccert rontott, de ez csak egy pillanatnyi fellángolás volt a magyar bajnoki bronzérmestől, amely nem tudta nyomás alatt tartani riválisát. A folytatásban Kovácsik bravúros védése tartotta meccsben a MOL Fehérvár FC-t, de a hajrában egy hosszú kirúgást követően Silue lövésénél már ő is tehetetlennek bizonyult. A hajrában nem változott az eredmény, így a MOL Fehérvár FC első magyar csapatként búcsúzott a nemzetközi kupaküzdelmektől.
