Keszthelyi ezüstérmes, a Dunaújváros negyedik a BL-ben

A Dunaújváros női vízilabdacsapata a spanyol Mataró és a nyolcszoros győztes olasz Orizzonte csapatától is vereséget szenvedett a Bajnokok Ligája négyes döntőjében, így a negyedik helyen zárta a sorozatot. A Mataró, így Keszthelyi-Nagy Rita ezüstérmesként zárt.
Az elődöntőben a Dunaújváros nem tudta borítani a papírformát, 12:9-es vereséget szenvedett a Keszthelyi Ritát is a soraiban tudó spanyol Mataró együttesétől – számolt be az MTI. A magyar válogatott csapatkapitánya két gólt szerzett. A másik ágon az ötszörös győztes spanyol Sabadell jutott fináléba, így ez volt az a sorozat történetének első döntője, amelyet azonos nemzetbeli csapatok vívtak.

A bronzmeccsen lehengerlő játékkal kezdett az olasz csapat, szinte minden akciójából eljutott gólhelyzetig és különböző találatokat – ejtés, távoli lövés, emberelőnyös húzás – szerzett. Mihók Attila csapata Garda Krisztina révén csak egy ötméteressel tudott válaszolni és már az első szünetre négygólos hátrányba került. A folytatásban állandósult a két csapat közti különbség, majd a harmadik negyedben egy hatperces gólcsend után csak az Orizzonte talált be. A Dunaújváros az utolsó nyolc percet meg tudta nyerni, de így is 12:8-as vereséget szenvedett és a negyedik helyen zárta a sorozatot.

A döntőben úgy tűnt, a házigazda Sabadell magabiztosan eldönti a sorozat fináléját, ugyanis a harmadik negyed közepén már négy góllal vezetett. Innentől kezdve azonban felzárkózott a Mataró és az utolsó másodpercekben labdája volt az egyenlítéshez, de végül ezzel nem tudott élni – írta összefoglalójában az MTI. Keszthelyi Rita két góllal járult hozzá az ezüst megszerzéséhez. A Sabadell története során hatodszor hódította el a legrangosabb európai trófeát.
